Why are we Saved?
“But when he who had set me apart before I was born, and who called me by his grace, was pleased to reveal his Son to me, in order that I might preach him among the Gentiles, I did not immediately consult with anyone;”
Galatians 1:15-16 ESV
Yes although it is hard to understand, we are set apart (chosen) before we are born. At some point in our life, God reveals, through the Holy Spirit, His Son. It is this call that we answer when we surrender our lives to serve Him. But, Why does He call us.
He calls us to serve, “in order that I might preach him”. Our calling is not just some, insurance policy against hell. Although that is what we are saved from. No, it is so much more, it is adoption into a family. It is an external inheritance as a child of the King. It is an invitation to work in the kingdom. A job offer from the King Himself, preach the good news. That is what we are called to do. As long as there is breath in our bodies we are to live to preach the gospel and glorify our Lord. Dear brothers and sisters, it is so easy for us to forget our true calling. The cares of life are designed to bog us down. To wear on our very spirits. To so distract us that we forget out purpose. Don’t let the system of this world get you off track. Keep your eyes focused on the King and His Kingdom.
