Grace and Peace

Grace and Peace

Grace and peace, the first being the source of our salvation the second is the result of our salvation.  How blessed we are to possess these two gifts.

“Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ, who gave himself for our sins to deliver us from the present evil age, according to the will of our God and Father,”

Galatians 1:3-4 ESV

Grace represents our position and peace is the practical application.  Peace that flows from our Father. Peace that guides us through the storm. A peace that the world does not know and can never understand.

Think for a moment of just how special we are, of all the religions in the world only Christians have grace and peace.

All others work from a system of rules (the law) these systems have no grace and can never give peace.  False teachers will always fall back on a system of works.

“Now to the one who works, his wages are not counted as a gift but as his due. And to the one who does not work but believes in him who justifies the ungodly, his faith is counted as righteousness,”

Romans 4:4-5 ESV

Works are not grace! Works can never bring peace, for one never knows if his works are sufficient.  Thank our Lord that our peace is not from our works but from His grace.

“For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: not of works, lest any man should boast.”

Ephesians 2:8-9 KJV

So to you my brothers and sisters let this greeting be our chorus, Grace and Peace.  The gift that flows eternal from our Father.
