A Gift for the future Spouses of My Children
If you are like me and have children you probably think about their future. I wonder what my kids will do when they grow? Will they go to college and where will they live? Most important is what kind of people will they become?
I have started to pray for who they will marry and although I do not know these people?? Maybe I do? I love them already. In my love for them, I want what’s best for them. I mean they are going to marry my kids. So, I want to give them something. And the best thing I can give them is my child. The best child I can raise with God’s help.
So, this is for my kids. When that days come and you meet that special someone I want you to be ready. How do you do that? Well, first I want you to start by loving them right now. I know that may sound funny, how can you love someone you don’t even know? Well, you can, not with worldly love but with God’s love.
“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.”
John 3:16 ESV
First God’s love is not about getting but giving. “He gave”. And God did not give just anything He gave, “His only Son”. This was the very best that God had. So when that day comes to marry I want you to give to your spouse the very best that you have. If you love them, and I know you will, you will want for them what is best. So then start loving them now, save yourself for that special someone, so that on that wedding day you can give them the best.
Until that day know that any person that tries to take from you what you are saving does not love you and does not have your best at heart. Prepare in your heart starting today to love that someone and to save for them the best that you have. Until that day comes grow in the Lord and prepare for that exciting adventure that awaits.
“Blessed are those whose strength is in you, whose hearts are set on pilgrimage.”
Psalms 84:5 NIV

Thank you for each thought that God inspires you pass on through your devotions. We are praying for the future spouses of our grandchildren.
This was very encouraging! May God bless you and your family today and every day.
