Meditations in Psalms
“Blessed is the one whose transgressions are forgiven, whose sins are covered. Blessed is the one whose sin the Lord does not count against them and in whose spirit is no deceit.”
Psalms 32:1-2 NIV
Blessed be the name of the Lord. It is interesting that God is to be blessed by His people and is the source of our blessings. The greatest blessing of all is to be forgiven our sins. Not just the sins of our past but the sins of today and our future. Although we are imperfect we can live clean before our God. David looks and sees the coming of our savior. And with Him the blessing of living a forgiven life. David sees the blood of the Messiah covering sin. Personally I love reading the Psalms, I considered the Psalms one of the great books of Biblical prophecy. There are over 90 prophecies in Psalms that Jesus fulfilled. I know we see Psalms as a book of songs to sing and it is, yet at the same time, it is so much more. There is a Psalm for any mood or kind of day. If you are not seeing it perhaps you should read it a little more deeply. Lord thank you for the poetic beauty that you have given us in Psalms.
