Psalms

Meditations in Psalms

“You turned my wailing into dancing; you removed my sackcloth and clothed me with joy, that my heart may sing your praises and not be silent. Lord my God, I will praise you forever.”

Psalms 30:11-12 NIV

Here we find two truths, a present one and one for the future. Today if we call upon the Lord He will turn our sorrow into joy. He is the giver of joy and has already given to us of His abundance. Let us sing songs of worship and praise to our Lord. It should be impossible for us to remain silent. Our hearts should cry out with praises. Let everything within us praise and glorify the Lord. For He alone is worthy. Here also David sees the future. He foresees being in the house of the Lord forever, where he will praise God without end. All honor and glory are due to our Great King. Let us like David look forward to the day when our sadness will be joy, our tears will become dancing and we will sing praises to our King forevermore.
