Take Your Kids to Work Day.
Nov. 6th
Frequently I watch a live cast online from a guy who is a stock trader. He works from home and illustrates how and why he buys or sells stock as the day goes on. Well, he works from home and has kids. Now and then one of his kids will come into his office and we will see them onscreen. He will stop what he is doing and talk with them and soon enough they will be on their way. Have you ever thought in the same way, we can come into God’s office?
“But I, by your great love, can come into your house; in reverence I bow down toward your holy temple.”
Psalms 5:7 NIV
“Let us then approach God’s throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.”
Hebrews 4:16 NIV
We can come before the throne of God and the best part is He stops what He was doing and will talk with us. Why is this possible? Well for two reasons.
“See what great love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are! The reason the world does not know us is that it did not know him.”
1 John 3:1 NIV
It is because of His, “great love” for us as His children. A loving father wants to be with his children. And when his children come around a father will stop what he is doing to spend time with his child. In the same way our Heavenly Father. Who sits on His throne in Heaven. (Which is His office from which He goes about the business of running the universe) Will stop what He is doing and spend time with His children when they come into His office. What a privilege we have to be able to come into God’s office whenever we want. Yet, how often do we take advantage of this privilege? God through His, “great love” has opened the doors of Heaven to His children. He sits in His office just waiting for us to come in and talk with Him. Instead, we spend our days in more mundane and trivial pursuits. Often we fail to see the desired outcomes because we failed to talk with our Father first. In all that we do let us first bring it before the throne. God is there, He’s just waiting for us. Best part He always has time for His kids!
