Church
Sept. 28

During my cancer treatment I spent 10 days hospitalized and all alone. It was during the COVID 19 shut down and I was allowed no visitors. I would see a nurse every few hours but they keep the visits short and to the point. During this time I would read my Bible and write what little I could for my blog. I would text my wife and kids but it was just not the same. After a while I started to get down. One day a nurse asked me what I was doing and I told her I was writing short devotionals for my family. She told me that she was a Christian and thought what I was doing was a great idea. I thanked her for the kind words and she left. Two days later she was back and she came into my room and she asked if we could spend some time together singing and praying. For the next half hour she sang and prayed. I sang within my heart (my voice was almost totally gone and I could not sing at all) my inner voice cried out to God in praise and worship. I cried as she sang and it was one of the best church services I’ve ever been to. God had sent a ministering spirit to encourage me in a dark hour. When she left I could hardly speak, God had refreshed my soul. Brothers and sisters we need each other. The hour of our Lord’s return grows near let us come together and lift each other up. The world around is a dark place. It is controlled by dark forces that want nothing more than to get us down and then destroy us.
“A person standing alone can be attacked and defeated, but two can stand back-to-back and conquer. Three are even better, for a triple-braided cord is not easily broken.”
Ecclesiastes 4:12 NLT
The Lone Ranger only wins in movies. In real life if you find your self all alone you are in great danger. So gather with other believers and encourage one another. Be that ministering spirit to someone today.
“I was glad when they said to me, “Let us go to the house of the Lord.””
Psalms 122:1 NLT
For I know that I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever. Come join me and bring your friends.
