Cross Contamination

“But if you do not drive out the inhabitants of the land, those you allow to remain will become barbs in your eyes and thorns in your sides. They will give you trouble in the land where you will live.”
Numbers 33:55 NIV
God was clear that the Israelites were to drive out all of the people living in the land. For He knew that if any remained the Israelites would be contaminated with their wicked ways. In just the same way we must drive out all vestiges of sin in our lives. God knows that if we allow any sin to remain it will contaminate our whole being. For many of us the sin in our lives is hard for others to see, this is perhaps the most dangerous kind. For we keep secrets within our hearts. Hidden in a deep dark corner. Brothers and sisters get it out. Shine the light into every corner of your life and sweep out the old dead things. Don’t you know that a little leaven will leaven the whole. Like the people of Israel, we too must make a decision. Will we drive out all of the inhabitants or will we leave some behind? If you leave any behind it will only bring pain and trouble in the future. Clean it out and live with God’s joy and peace.
